In “Trump’s gargantuan self-dealing” (Opinion, May 14), Edward Luce correctly raises the issue of ethics. As Albert Einstein reminds us, “relativity applies to physics, not ethics”.
I can’t stop thinking that we, academics, are obliged to undertake repeated training in ethics to promote trust, accountability, mutual respect and fairness when pursuing our research and teaching duties.
It looks like the same principles are not applicable to those who are very keen to “rule” our world.
