Marc De Vos’s op-ed “Brussels needs a new geopolitical compass” (May 12) is effectively a call to create a “United States of Europe”. He seems to have no interest in the fact that there is no popular support, nor democratic legitimacy, for such a project. The European public wants less EU, not more.
