Mark Fitzgerald’s observations about disappearing FTs (Letters, April 5) are more apposite than he might realise.

We live in a community adjacent to Richmond upon Thames bridge and have our beloved hard copy of the FT hand delivered — or should I say thrown over the railings by the courier in the early hours of the morning.

On regular occasions, despite our remonstrations, the FT goes “missing” and we often wonder why.

Thanks to your letters correspondent some light is being shed on the Awol FTs such that my wife and I are contemplating a 2am vigil in an attempt to thwart the FT being nabbed at the point of delivery. We will keep FT readers informed of progress.
