Prajith Nair, CEO, and Athira M, Co-Founder of Docker Vision
Docker Vision, an AI and computer vision startup, has been awarded a ₹1 crore grant by USHUS, a maritime startup engagement programme of Cochin Shipyard in association with IIT Madras. The grant will support innovative contributions towards maritime digital transformation.
Docker Vision’s flagship OCR (optical character recognition) technology is designed to bring automation to ports through AI-driven identification of containers, vehicles, and shipping documents by reducing manual operations, improving traceability, and accelerating logistics across terminals, said a press note.
Emphasising the importance of nurturing innovation and skill building among the youth, Madhu S Nair, Chairman and Director of Cochin Shipyard said the entire maritime sector — ports, inland waterways, and shipping — is undergoing rapid transformation driven by Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047. We need our young generation to go across the high seas bringing global laurels to India. Training has become extremely important, especially when the maritime industry is going through a technology transformation”.
